Q: Do we need a wedding planner to get married on Kefalonia? A: No, you can arrange things yourself, but it will not be easy unless you have a good knowledge of Greek, for dealing with the paperwork and the town hall.
Q: How long do we need to be resident on Kefalonia before we can get married? A: You will need to be here for at least 8 days before the wedding date.
Q: Will our wedding be legal in the UK? A: Yes, although your marriage certificates will be issued in Greek, so they will need translating on your return.
Q: Can we have our own music at our wedding ceremony? A: Yes, just provide us with a CD and we will make sure it’s played for your service.
Q: How and when do we pay for our wedding? A: After paying your initial deposit, you will receive your final invoice one month before your arrival. Instructions on how to pay are included with the deposit request and invoice.
Q: Are we able to buy our wedding rings in Kefalonia? A: Definitely. It is actually something we recommend as Greek gold is of a very high quality.
Q: Can we arrange our own reception? A: Certainly. We will do as much or as little as you require for your wedding.
Q: We have bought some table decorations. Can we bring them with us? A: Yes. Make sure we have them in plenty of time, so we can arrange them for you.
Q: My mother wants an English fruitcake. Can we bring one from the UK? A: Why not? Carry it as hand luggage so it doesn’t get ruined. Then you can have an English traditional cake and a Greek sponge cake at your reception offering your guests a choice.
Q: Our friend is a photographer and has offered his services at our wedding. Would this be OK? A: Yes. All our wedding plans include our own photographer and photos, so you can have both and get double the shots.
